The College of Education includes two academic departments – the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the Department of Kinesiology – as well as the UAH Early Learning Center. The Department of Curriculum and Instruction focuses on collaborative, elementary, English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and secondary teacher preparation*, while the Department of Kinesiology focuses on exercise science, sport and fitness management, and preparing physical education teachers. *It is important to note that admission to the university does not qualify a student for admission to the Educator Preparation Program. Because admission to the program is competitive, students are encouraged to contact the College of Education's Teacher Education Academic Advisor during their freshman or sophomore years.
