Within 30 Days of Being Admitted *Verify Your Information Check that your contact information, academic program, and application term are correct on your admission letter. If changes are needed, contact the Office of Admissions at 256.824.2773 or admissions@uah.edu *Access Your Online Services Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication Multi-factor authentication is required for all UAH students to access your online services, including your UAH email and student account. UAH utilizes two services for multi-factor authentication: Duo and Google 2-Step Verification. You will need to set up both services within 30 days of being admitted to avoid getting locked out of your student accounts. Set Up You MyUAH Account and Access Your UAH Email Visit our Getting Started resource guide for instructions on creating your UAH password and accessing your student accounts. Reference your acceptance email to view your A# and Charger ID. As a UAH student, you will use your myUAH account by visiting my.uah.edu to access campus information, accept or decline financial aid, register for classes, view your grades, see your academic transcript, and pay your bill. If an emergency arises that impacts you as an individual, the university will refer to your emergency contact information. It is important to enter a parent or family member's contact information under "Personal Information" in your my.uah.edu account. Class Registration *Submit Required Admissions Documentation Provisionally Admitted Students You must submit your official final college transcript including your undergraduate degree confirmation in order to register for classes and be considered for federal financial aid. International Students Official transcripts must be submitted to the Office of Admissions and a copy of your visa must be submitted to International Student and Scholar Services before you can register for classes. Please note, full-time registration is required each semester for all F-1 and J-1 visa holders. Meet with Your Advisor Contact your program coordinator to be directed to your academic advisor. Your advisor will assist you with class selection and establish your program of study. Register for Classes View our class registration page for instructions on how to complete class registration using schedule planner and to reference the registration dates for your term of entry. You may also view the academic calendar to learn more about important dates and deadlines. Full-time registration is nine credit hours each fall and spring semester and six credit hours each summer semester. Finances *Apply for Financial Aid To be considered for all types of federal aid, U.S. citizens and permanent residents should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using the UAH School Code (001055). Students planning to utilize VA education benefits should contact the Military and Veterans Programs Office. Accept Your Financial Aid Once you receive your official financial aid award package from the Office of Financial Aid via your official @uah.edu email address, accept or decline your aid through your my.uah.edu account. Pay Your Bill or Enroll in a Payment Plan All charges are due on the first official day of class each semester. Please note that tuition bills are not mailed to students. Tuition and fee charges are added to accounts after course registration. View payment options or set up a payment plan through the Office of the Bursar. Student Services Submit Your Immunization Records Submit your immunization records and answer the Tuberculosis Risk Questionnaire online using the Charger Health Portal. For information or assistance, visit the Student Health Center, call 256.824.6948, or email immunizations@uah.edu. Apply for Student Disability Services If you have a disability that requires academic or physical accommodations, contact Disability Support Services to file an application and set up a meeting to determine the appropriate accommodations. Set Up your Mobile Charger ID After you have registered for classes, follow our guidelines for creating your Mobile Charger ID, including submitting your ID photo and setting up your Charger ID credentials and multi-factor authentication. Register for a Parking Permit Visit parking.uah.edu to register your vehicle and order a parking permit. All students who plan to park a vehicle on campus must have a valid parking permit for the entire academic year. To see a full display of available campus parking, view the UAH campus map. Get Connected Access the New Graduate Student Resource Guide All newly admitted graduate students will be emailed information about how to access our online New Graduate Resource Guide through Canvas. This online resource library will provide you will helpful information regarding advising and registration, campus technologies, student services, financial aid, and student billing. Get Connected on Social Media Follow UAH and our academic departments on social media for information and exciting campus updates! INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS International Students seeking a F-1 Visa should also follow the below steps as soon as possible upon admission. Both of these items must be completed before you can enter the United States. Request Your I-20 The Office of International Services will be assisting you with instructions on how to request an I-20 in order to obtain an F-1 visa to travel to UAH to begin your studies. Please make sure to set up your UAH email account using the instructions and email address provided to you, as this is the email address that will be used to send your next steps for requesting an I-20. Submit Your Visa Before you can enroll in your classes, you must submit proof of your Visa to isss@uah.edu. IMPORTANT REMINDERS International Students: You are required to attend a mandatory immigration orientation hosted by the Office of International Student Services. They will be in touch with the date, time, and more details. Please be sure your flight arrives at the Huntsville (HSV) airport no sooner than 30 days prior to this date. Your Charger ID (ex: abc0001) is used to sign in to my.uah.edu, our wireless network, Canvas, and Google Apps. Visit reset.uah.edu to set up your password and access your accounts. Check your admissions letter for your Charger ID and A Number to get started. Begin checking your @uah.edu email account for important announcements after you have registered for classes.
