What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
Multi-factor authentication, or MFA, adds a second layer of security to your account by requiring multiple factors to verify your identity. These factors include something you know, like your username and password, and something you have, like your phone or a passcode. The use of multiple authentication methods ensures greater protection against cyber hacking than passwords alone.
UAH utilizes Duo services for multi-factor authentication.
What is Duo?
Duo is UAH's MFA solution for logging on to Single Sign-On authenticated systems. Examples of Single Sign-On (SSO) systems include myUAH, Canvas, Banner, etc. Read more about Single Sign-On.
As of June 9, 2023, all current students, faculty, and staff are required to use Duo when logging in to SSO-authenticated services and classroom podium computers.
