Student Services & Housing

  • All first-time, full-time freshman students with a permanent legal residence beyond a 30 mile radius from campus are required to live in campus residence halls their first year. Apply for housing with Housing & Residence Life.

  • Students are automatically assigned a meal plan based on if they plan to live on-campus or off-campus. If you prefer the default meal plan, you do not have to submit a request or select a plan. Requests are only needed from students who prefer another meal plan option or an upgrade. All requests must be submitted to the Charger Card Office no later than the last day of the 2nd week of classes each semester. All full-time, undergraduate students are required to have a meal plan. Learn about available options by visiting Dining Services.

  • Submit your immunization records using the Immunization Form and Tuberculosis Risk Questionnaire. For information or assistance, visit the Student Health Center, call 256.824.6978, or email immunizations@uah.edu.

    Apply for Student Disability Services

If you have a disability that requires academic or physical accommodations, contact Disability Support Services at 256.824.6203 to file an application and set up a meeting to determine the appropriate accommodations.

  • After you have registered for classes, follow our guidelines for creating your Mobile Charger ID, including submitting your ID photo and setting up your Charger ID credentials and multi-factor authentication.

For more information about multi-factor authentication, please see "Access Your Online Services" below.

  • Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication is required for all UAH students to access your online services, including your UAH email and student account. UAH utilizes two services for multi-factor authentication: Duo and Google 2-Step Verification. You will need to set up both services within 30 days of being admitted to avoid getting locked out of your student accounts. For more information and detailed instructions, please click HERE.

    Access myUAH

To set up your myUAH account, UAH’s secure web portal, visit reset.uah.edu and follow the prompts to create your password. Academics

  • A final high school transcript, including date of graduation, is due within four weeks of graduation. If the final official transcript is not received, you may become ineligible to register for courses or your schedule may be adjusted. You can send your official transcripts to UAH using Docufide/Parchment, E-Scrip, or Student Clearinghouse, or ask your school to send your official hard-copy transcript to UAH Admissions, 301 Sparkman Drive, SSB, Suite 106, Huntsville, AL 35899.

  • To receive credit for dual-enrollment courses, you will need to submit an official college transcript. To receive credit for Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams, official test scores must be sent by the testing agency. Visit CollegeBoard and use UAH school code 1854 for AP and CLEP, and visit IBO for IB. Once official transcripts and test scores have been received and evaluated, you may view your credit on your Academic Transcript through your my.uah.edu account.

  • Academic placement for new students is determined by your ACT/SAT results, AP scores, and/or previous college credit. Determine your academic placement by reviewing our Academic Placement Guidelines. Students who would like to test for a higher course placement in math, foreign languages, and English should do so before attending Freshman Orientation.
