Dr. Steven DiBlasi

Instructor, Music Department

Dr. Steven DiBlasi, an accomplished pianist with a passion for whimsy, relocated to Northeast Alabama to teach at Snead State in the fall of 2015. He serves as the Piano and Theory Instructor as well as the Fine Arts Event Coordinator for the college. He also teaches applied piano at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Besides teaching, he avidly pursues and presents on his research interest of musical consilience and enjoys an active performance calendar including annual tours with his duo partner Dr. Gianluca Strazzullo. Dr. DiBlasi owes an enormous debt to the tutelage of Dr. Victor Asuncion, Dr. John Baur, and Dr. Kevin Richmond at the University of Memphis where he received his DMA in Collaborative Piano as well as Dr. Wendy Freeland at Jacksonville State University with whom he studied prior.
