My name is James Carter. I am a Music Technologist, Audio Engineer, a Producer, Live Sound Engineer and an all around Audio fanatic. I have been an Audio Extremist since I was 10 years old (a long time ago!), and I would like to help you explore this HUGE world!
I am a musician, with experience in playing Drums, and Keys, which has enhanced my ability to use my ears while mixing (however this isn't not a must have to navigate this world). I have worked with just about every type of musician and musical genre over the years, in order to learn, teach, and hopefully empower others to dive into the wonderful world of creating multimedia content.
I have been teaching music and recording technology since 2017, when I started my first teaching job at Calhoun Community College. Since then I have gained a degree in Business, Management of Technology, from Athens State University. I also developed the minor Music Recording Program at Athens State University. I have a certification in Avid Pro Tools DAW Software as well. I am currently enrolled to receive my certification from Pro Tools in there Dolby Atmos Program. In 2015, I went to Nashville, TN to intern with, my now friend/mentor, Bart Busch. I was there for 2 years submerged in the art of Tracking, Mixing, and Mastering audio files from artists, television shows, and movies. We worked on practically every hit Country Artist you can name. While there, I learned a lot of what I now call, My Chopps in Audio Engineering.
I'm a dad, with four wonderful children, who are growing up in an exciting, recording studio environment. I am a big fan of the Recording Studio as a whole. I built my Professional Home Recording Studio in 2017. This was an AMAZING year. Building my Studio afforded me the opportunity to take all of the knowledge from my time in Nashville and the studios I frequently tracked at, and create my DREAM home studio here in Madison, AL called Launch Studios LLC.
