Dr. Rebecca Whited

Biography

Rebecca Whited has been fortunate to experience many aspects within the field of music, but she is first a church musician. Her education, goals, and experiences are all centered on this area of music. Dr. Whited has served Christian churches of various denominations since the age of 11 years. She has also taught music both in private studio and in the classroom with students Pre-K through senior adults.

Growing up in Glen Arm, Maryland, Rebecca had the privilege of hearing a variety of musical styles and interpretations from a very early age. She is a graduate of Towson State University, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, and The Robert E Webber Institute for Worship Studies. Her organ instructors include Donald Sutherland, Dr. Don Hustad, and Dr. Robert E. Hopkins.

Dr. Whited presents several musical programs a year and is on the staff of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Huntsville. Her current project involves developing practice strategies for organists.
