Biography

In addition to teaching voice at UAH, Christian is the full time Director of Music and Organist at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity where he conducts all choirs and plays and plans music for all services. Christian also conducts local choral chamber ensemble, Valley Consort. As a singer, Christian has performed with ensembles such as the Yale Schola Cantorum, Yale Choral Artists, Spire Chamber Ensemble, Bach Collegium San Diego, and the Oregon Bach Festival Chorus. He has also been featured as a soloist in Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Magnificat and Cantata 55, Stravinsky's Les Noces, Handel's Messiah, and most recently in a performance of Gabriel Jackson's Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christian holds a Bachelor of Music degree in organ performance from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL and a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the Yale School of Music in conjunction with the Yale Institute of Sacred Music in New Haven, CT. While at Yale, Christian was awarded the Richard DeLong prize in sacred music.
