UAHRA was established in 2005 with the following goals and objectives:

Support the scholarly and professional objectives of UAH
Provide opportunities for UAH retirees to continue their professional relationships with their UAH colleagues through sponsorship and promotion of education programs and social events
Communicate with UAH, Alabama State government and groups on issues concerning the needs of and opportunities for retirees

UAHRA has over 100 members and meets quarterly at UAH.

Don Bowyer

Professor and Chair of the Music Department Don Bowyer left UAH in 2012 to become Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Arkansas State University.
