Wanted: Retirees to help with the UAH Archived Photo Project

The UAH Library Archives department is looking for our help in identifying and logging archived photos.

There are thousands of pictures dating back to probably the mid- to late-60s with little or no information on them and little to no organization. The Library is looking for volunteers to identify the pictures so that they can so they can be catalogued. Retirees, with their long association with UAH would make perfect volunteers. UAHRA members Charlie and Steve Bruce have already started working on the project, but there’s room and time for many others. It’s a fun project and can bring back lots of memories.

The project needs people from different colleges/departments to help identify people/buildings that they are, or were, familiar with. The Archives department has been very generous and dedicated a spot for us to work. Two-three people from the same discipline at the same time would a great as they could find a batch of photos from their area and get through them pretty quickly. Eventually these photos will be posted on the University Library website. They have already posted some archival stuff and if you get a chance, check it out!

If you’re interested, please contact Charlie Bruce for information about how to get started.
