Sustainability Curriculum

Introducing students to sustainability concepts can provide valuable grounding, help build knowledge of sustainability issues, and prepare students to apply sustainability principles in their professional fields. Integrating sustainability concepts throughout the curriculums helps to ensure sustainability education is comprehensive and includes diverse topics. As a student in Dr. Wessling’s class, students were tasked with recommendations on how the farmer could combine aquaculture with hydroponics to optimize a sustainable food production system for the farm. "This was how engineering really came to life for me… when I saw how we could directly impact someone."
