The SAT is a standardized test that is widely used for college admissions and is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors. The SAT consists of three major sections: Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing. It assesses how well a test taker analyzes and solve problems.

  • It is a pencil and paper test.
Test Dates and Registration
  • Registration is available on the SAT website. Check during online registration for The University of Alabama in Huntsville availability.

Test Day Information
  • Bring your admission ticket printed with the correct test location, date, and time.
  • Bring approved identification. Please see acceptable forms of identification on the SAT website.
  • Bring several number 2 pencils. Mechanical pencils and pens are not allowed.
  • SAT permits examinees to use a calculator. Every question on the SAT can be solved without a calculator, however, using a calculator on some questions may be helpful. For an approved list of calculators see the SAT website.
  • Exam length is approximately 4 hours.
