Your New Home - Morton Hall

Watch the following video for a virtual tour of the Morton Hall renovation and expansion.

It is an exciting time to be joining our College.  In Fall 2020 we reopened the Morton Hall renovation and expansion. Morton Hall originally opened in 1960 and was the first academic building on the UAH campus. After a $30 million dollar renovation, Morton Hall (110,000 square feet) now features completely new classroom spaces and offices for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

The original building has been completely remodeled to include technology-driven classrooms, collaborative seminar rooms, research lab space, and new faculty offices. The addition to the building adds 13 new classrooms, including a 124 seat lecture hall. We are also very excited to start productions in our new black box theatre that features a catwalk, control room, and green room, plus modular risers for different seating options.

Students will have numerous common areas designed for studying and collaborative projects. The glass exteriors and expansive new windows will provide amazing campus views. The new courtyard space between Morton Hall and Frank Franz Residence Hall will create a place for students to walk freely, spend time outdoors, and host student organization programs.

Events

Our college will host numerous events during the academic year, including guest lecturers, art exhibitions, theatre productions, music performances, and more!  Keep a lookout for future dates here. Our College will also participate in the University initiative Week of Welcome!
