Art Students

The Department of Art, Art History, and Design has created this helpful student passport for all new art majors and minors. This mini-book is meant to guide you through your first steps as a new student within the department including information on advising, student organizations, resources, regional art galleries, and art supplies.

Charger Checklist

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions encourages all students to use the Charger Checklist as a guide as you prepare for your first semester at UAH.

Your New Home- Morton Hall

It is an exciting time to be joining our College. This August we open the Morton Hall renovation and expansion. Morton Hall originally opened in 1960 and was the first academic building on the UAH campus. After a $30 million dollar renovation, Morton Hall (110,000 square feet) now features completely new classroom spaces and offices for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The original building has been completely remodeled to include technology-driven classrooms, collaborative seminar rooms, research lab space, and new faculty offices. The addition to the building adds 13 new classrooms, including a 124 seat lecture hall. We are also very excited to start productions in our new black box theatre that features a catwalk, control room, and green room, plus modular risers for different seating options. Students will have numerous common areas designed for studying and collaborative projects. The glass exteriors and expansive new windows will provide amazing campus views. The new courtyard space between Morton Hall and Frank Franz Residence Hall will create a place for students to walk freely, spend time outdoors, and host student organization programs.

Our college will host numerous events this Fall, including guest lecturers, art exhibitions, theatre productions, music performances, and more!  Keep a lookout for future dates. Our College will also participate in the University initiative Week of Welcome!
