From professional research to public history internships, students in history take advantage of dynamic opportunities in and out of the classroom. Students interested in the languages and cultures of antiquity can join the Society for Ancient Languages. Our history clubs occasionally sponsor social activities and field trips. Students excelling academically may join the history honor society, Phi Alpha Theta, or receive departmental honors or scholarships. Many students complete a full-semester internship before graduating, gaining real-world experience in the workplace. All students take the capstone research seminar, which prepares them for professional research and writing. The Department of History is committed to offering our students the resources and opportunities they need to excel in their degree program and beyond.
