The fall issue of "Perpetua: The UAH Journal of Undergraduate Research" is currently available online.

"This issue features a diverse collection of contributions from fields including business, nursing, chemistry, biology, computer science, and sociology," says Emily Hartsell, a junior biological sciences major who serves as the publication’s assistant editor-in-chief. "We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the authors who submitted their work, their faculty sponsors, and the peer reviewers who made our publication possible."

Founded in 2015, "Perpetua" is a student-run, peer-reviewed publication designed to showcase undergraduate student research, scholarly exploration, and creative work at UAH. The publication’s advisors include David Cook, student research coordinator; Dr. Yu Lei, assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering; and Dr. Gordon MacGregor, assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences.

"I’m really excited and proud to see ‘Perpetua’ move forward with its newest issue," says Cook. "The editorial and production staff continue to grow, and they are doing a great job of laying the foundations for a long-term, sustainable publication that is well on its way to becoming the established, high-visibility showcase of undergraduate research at UAH."

"Perpetua" publishes original research performed by UAH undergraduate students under the guidance of a faculty member, research staff member, or an outside professional with prior approval. Submitted work must be original and innovative, and completed while the student was an undergraduate at UAH or within one year of graduation. The deadline for submissions for the spring issue of "Perpetua" is Feb. 15.
