Biography
Emily has extensive clinical experience across a variety of behavioral health settings, including residential treatment, inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient services, and substance use treatment programs. She began her career in a residential treatment facility for adolescents, where she served in multiple clinical roles that allowed her to develop expertise in both individual and group therapy while addressing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns. She later expanded her clinical practice in a hospital setting, providing crisis intervention and behavioral health assessments for clients across the lifespan with diverse and often complex psychiatric diagnoses. This experience strengthened her ability to deliver effective, evidence-informed care in high-acuity environments. Throughout her career, Emily has also worked with individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders in a variety of treatment settings. Her broad clinical background includes supporting clients from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and demographic backgrounds as they navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, emotional and behavioral concerns, academic and career development, and personal growth.
Emily believes that counseling is a collaborative and empowering process of self-discovery, personal growth, and meaningful change. She views the therapeutic relationship as a partnership built on trust, compassion, and respect, where clients are supported in developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges. With specialized training in trauma-informed care and neuropsychotherapy, Emily incorporates an understanding of the connection between the brain, emotions, experiences, and behaviors into her therapeutic approach. She recognizes the impact that trauma, stress, and life experiences can have on an individual’s overall well-being and works to create a safe, supportive environment that promotes healing, regulation, and personal growth. Rather than positioning herself as the expert on a client's life, Emily serves as a knowledgeable guide who helps clients identify their strengths, gain new perspectives, and develop practical skills to achieve their goals. She utilizes evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual's unique needs, integrating current knowledge of neuroscience and trauma recovery to foster insight, emotional well-being, and lasting change. Emily is committed to creating a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to explore difficult experiences, overcome obstacles, and build the tools necessary to lead more fulfilling, balanced, and meaningful lives.
