Over the years, Emily has had experience with clients of various socioeconomic, age, and gender differences having interpersonal problems, life transitions, grief and trauma issues, academic development matters, and emotional/behavioral concerns. Counseling Philosophy: Emily views counseling and therapy as a personal journey of self-exploration to enhance a client's sense of self-worth and to help them function successfully in today's culture. Clients need to grow in their level of self-understanding and self-awareness. As a counselor, she does not act as a self-appointed expert, but rather a guide to enhance the experience and allow the clients to improve their insight and new tools to gain a more positive outlook on life and their general situation. She strives to offer new perspectives to her clients and help identify, develop, and mobilize a client's resources to successfully solve their own problems and meet the challenges they face head on.
