The Department of Curriculum and Instruction collaborates with the College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences, the College of Science, and local schools to offer undergraduate teacher preparation programs that combine a broad liberal education base and professional studies that are content-rich with diverse field experiences integrated into all coursework.
Several options for graduate certification are also offered. The Master of Education program is available for teachers already certified at the baccalaureate level and seeking advanced-level certification. A Master of Arts in Teaching program is also available for individuals seeking initial certification. Students may also opt to pursue a graduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders.
*It is important to note that admission to the university does not qualify a student for admission to the Educator Preparation Program. Because admission to the program is competitive, students are encouraged to contact the College of Education's Teacher Education Academic Advisor during their freshman or sophomore years.
