UAH will be hosting an In-person Career Fair on Wednesday September 1 from 8:30 am-12:30 pm and a Virtual Career Fair on Thursday, September 2, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm through Charger Path, powered by Handshake. Current UAH students and alumni will be able to connect in person on Wednesday and virtually on Thursday with employers through video and chat and we've got plenty of tips to help you make the most of both fairs.
Virtual sessions also mean that you can schedule 1-1 sessions in advance and RSVP for group sessions, securing your spot to meet with the employers that interest you. Remember--you’ll need to sign up for these sessions in advance in order to guarantee employer interactions!
Whether the career fair is virtual or in-person, business professional attire is highly encouraged and a minimum of business casual attire is required. Employers formulate opinions about our UAH student and alumni body based upon your professional appearance. Your professional presentation reflects positively on you and the university! Be sure you are feeling comfortable and confident!
Charger Virtual Career Fair Checklist:
- Step one: Register! You must register for the career fair as well as any individual and group employer sessions in advance. You can only attend the sessions you register for in Handshake.
- Step two: Update! When updating your profiles, be sure that your information on all platforms (ChargerPath, LinkedIn, Resumes, ect) match information. Ensure that your profiles have at least your school year, major, GPA, and work authorization status.
- Step three: Double Check! Double-check your technology. You’ll need a good internet connection, speakers, and microphone. Double check your platforms. You’ll need to ensure there is good grammar usage, no spelling errors, and up-to-date information. For more information on Technical Requirements of Handshake, please review this article.
- Step four: Get Familiar! Check out this article on how to participate in the virtual fair through ChargerPath. It gives step-by-step instructions on how to join sessions, use certain features, and leave the session when it is over.
