September 23, 2020 By this point next week, the Virtual Fall 2020 Career Fair, will be checked off your to-do list, but your work is not done once the fair ends. We’re sharing our best tips for after a Career Fair to continue to increase your chances of landing an interview or position with a company down the road. Apply for open opportunities: We recommend you apply for positions before the fair, but applying shortly after the Career Fair can also increase your chances of landing the position, especially if an employer has encouraged you to apply. You can use either Charger Path, powered by Handshake or the Company’s website to apply. To learn more about applying for jobs in Charger Path, check out this help article. Follow companies: If you’re not already following companies you’re interested in through Charger Path, now’s a great time to start. By following companies you’ll receive updates when they host events or post positions that may be relevant to you. Don’t ghost the interviewer: After you end your 1:1 session, follow up with a thank you message to the interviewer to thank them for their time and reiterate your interest. You’ll also want to actively monitor your messages in Charger Path and your email so you don’t miss any communication from the employer. Practice with a Mock Interview: Practicing a mock interview with Career Services is a great way to keep your interview skills fresh.
