A steering committee* will provide expertise and oversight to support ICAPRO’s vision, mission, and goals. Steering committee members represent regional and subject matter expertise and work closely with the Director to:

  • Oversee the Office’s vision, mission, goals, and strategies for goal attainment
  • Monitor and provide guidance on the Office’s initial and ongoing research, programming, activities, and projects
  • Monitor the Office’s initial and ongoing progress, performance, outcomes, and impact
  • Make recommendations for research, education and training, and programming initiatives to advance the vision, mission, and goals
  • Advise on communications, stakeholder engagement, and public participation

Regional Composition

Steering committee members represent geographic regions. Each region is represented by at least one member who lives in the region and/or has an established presence and experiences in the region as it pertains to the phenomenon of International Parental Child Abduction.

  • Region 1: Africa and the Middle East
  • Region 2: East Asia, Pacific, South, and Central Asia
  • Region 3: Europe
  • Region 4: North America
  • Region 5: Central America and South America

Subject Matter Expertise

Steering committee members represent areas of expertise and competencies that are integral to accomplish the Office’s vision, mission, and goals, including:
