Prepare for a Career

A UAH History MA prepares you for a variety of growing fields, like Management Analyst, Lawyer, Postsecondary Teacher, Technical Writer, Paralegal or Legal Assistant, Archivist, and positions like secondary school teacher (needed in Alabama and Huntsville!), technical or career education, or education administrator.

Quality Faculty

Our faculty conduct and publish original research in their areas of expertise.

Small Classes

Professors will get to know you and your work because our graduate seminars are small. Your professors will help you locate internships, complete your own research, improve in analysis, and grow as a writer and clear communicator–all skills modern employers desire in employees.

Flexible Goals

Cultivate a new passion, prepare for a new career, and do an internship with NASA, a local archive, or a business. We have multiple pathways to fit your needs: independent (publishable) research, thesis, teacher certification, and public history, for example.

Important

Students are now able to apply for admission for Summer 2024 & Fall 2024 entry terms.

Limited funding opportunities are available. Apply for a Graduate Teaching Assistantship here.
