Courtesy of much work on the part of Max Bonamente and Laci Gambill, the roof of the Optics Building now hosts a fully operational Small Radio Telescope: a 7-1/2 foot diameter radio antenna with a 21-cm, 40 MHz bandwidth receiver. The SRT can be used to detect radio emission from a variety of astronomical sources, including the Galactic plane, Orion, and the Andromeda galaxy. The telescope is now open for student projects. The telescope website will be operational soon.
