Alabama Launchpad hosts a competition that awards funding on the basis of potential to create social and economic impact in Alabama. Applications are open periodically throughout the year. Alabama Small Business Development Center Network There are 10 Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) across Alabama that provide entrepreneurs with business training and resources to start and grow their businesses. The Alabama SBDC Network is an accredited member of America’s Small Business Development Centers. BIO Alabama BIO Alabama promotes biotechnology innovation in Alabama by supporting biotech companies and professionals and by collaborating with public and private industry partners. The Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship The Catalyst Center provides entrepreneurs and small businesses with mentoring and networking opportunities in Alabama. Projects of The Catalyst include the Women’s Business Center serving North Alabama, the REACH Women’s Business Center serving Central and South Alabama, and the TechRich Center which focuses on Government Contracting serving the defense and space technology industries in North Alabama. International Resources World Intellectual Property Organization The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is a self-funding agency of the United Nations that develops and leads the international intellectual property system.
