Michael Mercier | UAH The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will award an estimated 1,025 degrees during its fall commencement ceremonies on Monday, Dec. 11, at the Von Braun Center. UAH is part of The University of Alabama System. The ceremony for the College of Education, College of Engineering and College of Nursing will begin at 10 a.m. The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; the College of Business, and the College of Science will recognize their graduates starting at 2:30 p.m. “December is a time of anticipation and celebration, and both apply to commencement,” says Dr. Rhonda Gaede, associate provost for undergraduate education and associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. “Students have worked long and hard to complete their graduation requirements. They and their families are eagerly anticipating the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another. It is our privilege to celebrate this joyous occasion with them.” Students who completed degree requirements in the 2023 summer and fall semesters will be included in these ceremonies. Approximately 197 students finished in the summer and 828 in the fall. Estimated numbers of degrees to be presented from summer and fall combined are 618 bachelor’s degrees, 354 master’s degrees and 53 doctorates, either Ph.D. or Doctor of Nursing Practice.
