He received his Ph.D., M.S., and Dipl. Ing. degrees from the University of Belgrade, Serbia in 1999, 1997, and 1994, respectively. Professor Milenković's research interests span the areas of computer architecture, embedded systems and wireless sensor networks, and VLSI design. His goal is to develop hardware and software techniques that will allow computers execute programs faster and safer at minimal design and operating costs. In particular his research focuses on novel architectures for ensuring code and data integrity and confidentiality (a.k.a., secure processors), architectures for increased programmers' productivity and debuggability, memory hierarchy optimizations, and reconfigurable computing. He is also interested in developing new applications and systems for ubiquitous personal health monitoring. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed journal and conference articles and holds one U.S. patent. His work has been referenced in more than 1,600 papers (as of January 2011). Previously he has held academic positions at the Dublin City University in Dublin, Ireland (2000-2001) and the School of Electrical Engineering, the University of Belgrade (1994 - 2000).
