All faculty and staff members have been designated one of three codes with regard to returning to campus for the fall 2020 semester. If you have not received an email with your code designation, please contact your respective Vice President.

  • (R) Will continue to work remotely and would not be returning to campus fall semester
  • (S) Already on campus regularly and should go into Sentinel Testing
  • (T) Needs to return to campus and should be included in Re-entry Testing.

All faculty and staff returning to campus (Code T) must complete a COVID-19 test before resuming on-campus activities for fall semester 2020. Faculty and staff designated codes S and R will not participate in re-entry testing.

There are two options to complete the re-entry testing. GuideSafe™ (formerly known as Stay Safe Together™) is providing free on-campus testing, but you may also choose to go to your own doctor for a test at your own expense.

It is important to note that if you choose the free option provided by GuideSafe™, you must have an appointment to be tested. Walk-in testing is NOT available. Faculty and staff designated Code (T) will receive an email from testing@staysafetogether.org to schedule re-entry COVID-19 test appointments.

  • Testing Dates: August 4 – 21.
  • Testing Times: 8 a.m.-noon and 1-6 p.m. These hours may vary based on daily demand.
  • Testing Location: Spragins Hall  An appointment is required.  Walk-in testing is Not available

If you choose the private option and have your doctor perform the test, simply have the test done within 14 days of your return and send the results to COVIDtestingFS@uah.edu.

Following the re-entry testing period, sentinel testing of faculty and staff will be conducted regularly to signal trends, identify outbreaks, and monitor the prevalence of COVID-19 on a randomized sample of approximately 4% of employees. Additional information on sentinel testing will be coming soon.
