Sustainability in Practice
What is "sustainability" in your own words?
"Sustainability" is living your life in a way that attempts to have a net balance of zero in regards to the actions one takes. So, if you use waste in one area, maybe reuse or recycle in another aspect of your life so as to not add to the problem as a whole.
What role do you feel sustainability plays in your life, both now and in the future?
Sustainability honestly did not become that big of a deal in my life, until the last year or so. I lived with two people that were very conscious of their environmental footprint. They showed me small ways to make a difference that I never even knew about and I hope to play that role for others who don't know much about the topic in the future.
What does a "Sustainable UAH" look like?
Having an active student body that is aware of their actions in relation to the environment and promoting those actions to younger students.
In what ways can UAH improve in its pursuit of sustainability?
I think the biggest area to improve is general knowledge about the topic and getting people excited about sustainability.
