Undergraduate

Project HAPPENS is authorized to offer a number of tuition scholarships to undergraduate students who are pursuing the Language and Culture Concentration through the College of Education at UAH. Those students may be eligible to receive tuition remission for the courses listed below:

ED 307 - Multicultural Foundations of Education

These courses are designed to prepare classroom teachers to work with ELLs across any grade and/or content area. The courses also articulate with the content and objectives covered by Praxis II - ESOL, which is the test required for certification in ESOL in the State of Alabama.

Please note that one condition of the scholarship is that recipients agree to complete the five courses listed above for the Language and Culture Concentration as part of their undergraduate degree in Education at UAH. Also note that, per Alabama regulations, you will not be able to obtain ESL certification until you have two years of teaching experience and a passing score on the Praxis II ESOL test.
