Why is this series important to the Valley Region?

The University of Alabama in Huntsville, the city of Huntsville, Madison County, Cummings Research Park and Redstone Arsenal are national assets and play an integral role in how our nation responds to global events and technological advances. This distinguished lecture series will serve to coalesce these assets in a more seamless fashion, thus focusing the brainpower in responses to world events and trends, and enhance the growth of the advanced workforce of our region.

How does the university fit in this role?

The University of Alabama in Huntsville acknowledges the crucial duty of the federal agencies at Redstone Arsenal and the impact that world and geopolitical events have on the critical missions of those organizations. With that in mind, it’s important that UAH play a leadership role in bringing the region’s best minds together with world-renowned thought leaders and topic experts to share insights of matters of economic interests of the region. UAH is one of the foremost institutions of higher learning in the nation and serves as a leader in the region’s intellectual development, thus UAH is the logical community partner for this effort through leveraging of its existing partnerships with Redstone organizations and companies in Cummings Research Park to create an even higher level of intellectual critical mass.

Who will benefit from this series?
