Program Summary Program Timeline The Vision The Outcomes The Guideline Principles Message from the President "This program marks a significant step in transforming UAH’s systems to better support innovation, efficiency and excellence across our campus. By streamlining core administrative processes, we’ll reduce everyday burdens and empower our faculty and staff to focus more fully on what matters most — education, research and student success." "This is a university-wide effort, and its success depends on collaboration and input from every area of campus. While change of this scale can be challenging, it’s a vital investment in our future — ensuring UAH remains a university of choice for students, faculty and community partners alike." "Thank you for being part of this important transformation. We’re committed to supporting you every step of the way." Dr. Charles L. KarrPresident, The University of Alabama in Huntsville Program Summary UAH has partnered with Oracle and Huron Consulting Group to implement a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that will transform how we work together across campus. Designed to modernize and simplify our core Finance and Human Resource functions, the new system will streamline processes and reduce complexity. From budgeting to procurement, hiring to payroll, our work will integrate into one intuitive platform. With powerful self-service features, faculty, staff, and student employees will be able to enter time, manage expenses, submit requisitions, and access reports all in one place. This isn’t just about new technology. It’s about freeing up time and energy to support UAH’s core missions of teaching, research, and service. Most importantly, this new system is being built with you. Faculty and staff from across the university will actively shape the design, testing, and training to ensure the system reflects the real needs of our community. This is more than a system upgrade. It’s a step toward a smarter, more efficient, and more connected UAH. Program Timeline Launch: Introduce project vision, align on strategy, and map the new Chart of Accounts. Define: Map business processes, confirm system’s core design through early testing, and outline technical needs. Develop: Build and refine the system, with testing to validate that each part works correctly. Confirm: Test end-to-end processes and create training to prepare the UAH community. Deploy: Deliver training to users, run pilots, and transition to the new system. Sustain: Provide ongoing support and continuous improvements. The Vision: Why are we doing this? This initiative will unlock UAH’s full potential as an agile, collaborative, and forward-thinking institution through modern interfaces, streamlined processes, data-driven insights, and exceptional experiences for students, faculty, staff and the Huntsville community. The Guiding Principles In order to maximize Oracle Cloud functionality, UAH will... Embrace a “One UAH” Mindset: We will think beyond our immediate roles or functions and align our actions with UAH’s strategic goals, strengthening our ability to deliver consistent, high-impact results. Foster Transparency and Accountability: We will be open, honest, and authentic with each other and with institutional stakeholders. Empower Leaders: We will make decisions with purpose and clarity, balancing structured governance with agile execution in order to enable action, ownership, and continuous growth. Seek Collaboration and Share Perspectives: We will engage all voices and assume positive intent in order to foster unity, deepen shared understanding, and drive collective outcomes. Reimagine What’s Possible: We will embrace leading practices and innovation that fit UAH’s needs, challenging the status quo and modifying policies to support the adoption of new practices. Act as Catalysts for Cultural Change: We will pursue cultural transformation at UAH by actively embracing positive change. Focus on Function: We will approach every undertaking as an opportunity to improve institutional operations as well as the lived experiences of our stakeholders. The Outcomes Through the ERP Modernization Program, UAH will... Empower our stakeholders with institutional data that is relevant, reliable, and easily accessible. Adopt a fully digital environment that reduces operational risk, improves institutional efficiency, and accelerates employee development. Drive simplification and standardization, maximizing the time that students, faculty, and staff can commit to UAH’s core missions. Streamline decision making by entrusting authority to the roles closest to the work. Establish a collaborative culture that adopts and scales innovation across the institution. Sustain and advance outcomes through ongoing governance and continuous improvement after go-live.
