At the recent mentoring event PRC had the privilege of hosting an esteemed alumnus, Dr. John Blevins, NASA's Chief Engineer. Dr. Blevins, a notable figure in the field of aerospace engineering, honored us with his presence on October 20, 2023, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

As the Chief Engineer for NASA's Space Launch System Program, Dr. Blevins plays a pivotal role in managing this groundbreaking initiative, which is based at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. In his esteemed position, he provides crucial direction to the SLS Engineering efforts and oversees the SLS Chief Engineer's Office.

Dr. Blevins' illustrious educational journey started at the Tennessee Technological University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Degree and at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he earned a Master of Science Degree and a Doctorate in Aerospace Engineering.

During his enlightening presentation, titled "The Giant Leaps Starts Here," Dr. Blevins captivated the audience with insights into the highlights and resounding success of the NASA Artemis 1 Mission. Notably, an embroidered UAH flag had the honor of being flown on the Artemis 1 Mission within the Orion Spacecraft, which launched on November 16, 2022, and safely splashed down on December 11, 2022. This remarkable journey spanned an astounding 268,653 miles from Earth and ventured an impressive 43,051 miles beyond the Moon.
