Two UAH Faculty, Dr. Dale Thomas and Dr. Jason Cassibry attended the conference along with nine UAH graduate students, each of whom presented papers on research underway in Nuclear Thermal Propulsion (NTP) at the UAH Propulsion Research Center. The papers included topics in both solid fuel NTP – the type of NTP being developed for the joint NASA/DARPA DRACO project – as well as topics in advanced liquid fuel NTP. Dr. Thomas also served as a panelist for the “Staffing the Future” session, which included two academic and two industry panelists. Several of the UAH attendees also participated in a tour of the nearby Idaho National Laboratory on May 11 and a Liquid Uranium Properties workshop on May 12.
