The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) board of directors has approved the addition the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) as an Alliance Partner (see full list here) according to a February 23, 2016 press release on NCDMM.org .

Four alliance partners that included UAH, CoorsTek, Deloitte Consulting, and UI LABS, were approved by NCDMM which now has an Alliance Partner network of nearly 130 diversified organizations.

“We are excited to be an Alliance Partner with NCDMM. These partnerships enable continued collaboration between government, industry and academic organizations,” said Joe Paxton, Director of UAH Office for Operational Excellence. “This new affiliation will further enable us to support and advance the defense industry and the U.S. manufacturers that comprise it."

 

Joe Paxton is the Director of the Office for Operational Excellence in the Research Institute at University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Mr. Paxton has over 20 years’ experience in engineering and management including training and implementing continuous improvement principles, as well as optimizing supply chains.

Office for Operational Excellence (OOE) Researchers are full-time, non-academic researchers with over 100 years of combined experience in various industries in both the commercial and government sectors. OOE has extensive expertise in mapping, analyzing and improving supply chains within the Department of Defense, NASA and the private sector. As a non-profit organization, we maintain the flexibility to work alongside multiple organizations as a non-competitive partner in resolving challenges at all levels in the enterprise supply chain.
