The Office of Environmental Health and Safety is phasing out Chematix and US SDS and replacing them with CampusOptics, an environmental health and safety platform designed specifically for higher education. CampusOptics will serve as the management tool for all aspects of laboratory and facility safety at UAH. Management functions include: Hazardous waste management Chemical inventory management Laboratory documentation (LSCHPs, SOPs, etc.) EHS inspections Safety asset management and inspection Safety Data Sheet library To log into CampusOptics use your UAH Single Sign On credentials, if you do not have a UAH SSO please contact OEHS for assistance. You can access CampusOptics via the link on the OEHS website under the new CampusOptics tab - the link is also included here. CampusOptics supports both desktop and mobile browsers, and additionally has a mobile application for users. Search 'CampusOptics' in your preferred App Store and enter uah as the URL when prompted, then sign in with your SSO. OEHS support for Chematix will end on December 1st, 2025. OEHS will continue to accept hazardous waste pickups in Chematix until that date. After December 1st any waste still labeled with Chematix labels will need to be relabeled using CampusOptics and submitted for pickup there. If there are any outstanding inspection findings in Chematix after December 1st they will be ported over to CampusOptics on that date. OEHS moved over all chemical inventories and any other data we had on file for each lab, however only the PI and Lab Supervisors were put into CampusOptics upon launch. Any additional members will need to fill out the CampusOptics Access Request Form to be added to spaces. We will be updating SDS postings and lab door signage before the end of 2025. OEHS has provided guidance documents on our website under the CampusOptics tab, but will also be offering additional training upon request via Zoom or in person.
