UAH hosts Wernher von Braun Memorial Symposium

The Wernher von Braun Memorial Symposium brings together government, industry, academia and business.

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is hosting the 12th Annual Wernher von Braun Memorial Symposium Sept. 10-12.

The theme of this year’s symposium is "Exploration is the Work of Generations."

An event organized by the American Astronautical Society, the Wernher von Braun Memorial Symposium features panel discussions and guest speakers reflecting government, industry, academia, business and international perspectives on space exploration.

This year’s symposium features sessions and talks on exploration technology, workforce development, lunar surface operations, policy, commercialization and more.

Program highlights include:

  • National defense discussion with Mike Griffin, under secretary of defense for research and engineering:
  • Multiple networking events to meet and engage with industry peers;
  • NASA science mission updates with Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate.
