The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), part of The University of Alabama System, announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Konyang University, a university located in Nonsan, Republic of Korea. Officials from the two institutions gathered on the UAH campus to mark the occasion on Feb. 4, 2025.
The partnership will enable the two institutions to work together toward the internationalization of higher education on their respective campuses.
As part of the agreement, UAH and Konyang University hope to further opportunities to collaborate on academic programming, including joint degree (or “twinned”) programs, study abroad, student exchange, practical training and continuing education.
In addition to benefitting the student population, the agreement will enable the institutions to establish exchanges for training, teaching or professional development, as well as engage in collaborative faculty and staff workshops or conferences.
“At UAH, we understand the value of fostering cultural exchange on our campus, offering students new opportunities to broaden their perspectives,” said Dr. Jon Hakkila, Associate Provost of International Services and Academic Integrity, and Dean of the Graduate School at UAH. “By continuing to open the UAH campus to students from around the world and encouraging collaboration on an international scale, we will better equip students for success in a global economy.”
