Students

Reserves are items which have been set aside by UAH instructors for the students in their particular classes. They are available at the User Services Desk (in the library lobby). Your instructor should have informed you of the reserves.

  • You must be a current UAH student enrolled in the instructor's class to be eligible to check out reserves.
  • You must have your UAH I.D. Card with you in order to check out any reserve item.
  • All Reserve materials are listed in the Course Reserves search in Primo Pathfinder. You can search, there, by such fields as Course Instructor and Course Name.
  • Reserves with checkout times less than 24 hours may not leave the library.
  • We have a scanner in the library suitable for smaller items or select chapters.

Instructors

If you are an instructor who would like to place physical books on reserve, please use our course reserves online form. Paper forms are also available at the User Services Desk. For assistance, email library@uah.edu  or call (256) 824-6530.

In addition to physical reserves, UAH instructors can provide immediate access to Library-licensed course materials through the Course Reading List tool in Canvas. Use Course Reading Lists to link e-books directly into your Canvas course. See our Course Reading Lists Library Guide for more information and detailed setup instructions.

If the Library has a physical book that contains a single chapter you want to assign in your course, you can request digitization of that chapter through the Course Reading List tool. Questions about Course Reading Lists? Email April Urban, Scholarly Communications Librarian.
