On Tuesday of this Week, the library has two events in our Multimaker Lab.

At 1pm, there will be LinkedIn Profile Potraits, a workshop to help you get an updated professional quality photo for LinkedIn and other professional social media accounts and resumes. Be sure to wear professionally suitable attire.

Then, at 6pm, Makers Tuesdays will kick off with Intro to 3D Printing. This is the first of four April workshops. You do not have to attend all four. You can just pick the ones you like.

On Wednesday (April 3rd, starting at 3:30pm) the library will be participating in the AAPI (Asian-American and Pacific Islander) Heritage Celebration. We will be handing out boba tea but there will be performances and displays from a variety of folk.

Eclipse Next Week

Huntsville is not in the totality of next Monday's eclipse, but we will still get nearly 90%. To celebrate, the library will be handing out glasses for you to view the eclipse and free snacks (free to UAH students while supplies last). Make note that this is a natural event so no guarantees can be made for weather.

Also next week: Designing for the Cricut

StackMap Has Launched!

The Salmon Library has signed up for StackMaps and StackMaps Explore. This is an online tool that makes it easier for patrons to find what they need in the library. Highlighting important areas, commonly used services, and subjects it can be used to locate what you need faster. Try it out and see what you think! Over the next few weeks it will be integrated more and more with the website and Primo Pathfinder to help point you to items on the shelfs (i.e. stacks, hence the name). If you have any feedback, let us know at refdesk@uah.edu

The Library Is Looking for Volunteers

The Salmon Library is looking for a few volunteers for the Spring 2024 Website Usability Study. This process is vital for us to make sure our website does what students, faculty, and staff expect from it. If you would like to volunteer or know someone who would be interested, email doug.bolden@uah.edu and let him know. All participants will get a goody bag. Each session will take about half an hour.
