The M. Louis Salmon Library is part of a new multi-campus agreement with Elsevier involving the University of Alabama system, the Auburn University system, and other state-wide colleges and universities. This will allow our library (and other libraries in the agreement) to reduce subscription costs and provide continued access to our individual campus ScienceDirect collections. The new license also "protects author rights, addresses text and data mining rights, and ensures ADA accessibility, as well as preserves perpetual access rights, interlibrary loan, and other use permissions critical to the success of academic institutions in the State of Alabama". ScienceDirect provides the UAH campus access to millions of full-text articles (requires UAH sign-in) from more than 3,500 Elsevier electronic journals - including over 1,100 open access journals - across all fields of science and engineering as well as business/economics, social science, arts, and humanities.
