Welcome to Charger Innovation Challenge (CIC)!

The Charger Innovation Challenge (CIC) is presented by the Invention to Innovation Center (I²C) and is designed to engage students in hands-on innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.

CIC provides students with the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges, guiding them through the process of idea development, design, prototyping, and validation. The challenge encourages creative problem-solving, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practical execution.

Through participation in CIC, students gain experience in:

  • Identifying and defining meaningful problems
  • Developing innovative solutions
  • Testing feasibility and impact
  • Communicating ideas through professional pitches

Selected projects may advance beyond the competition through additional evaluation, mentorship, and support, helping teams explore next steps such as refinement, deployment, or further development.

The Charger Innovation Challenge serves as a bridge between academic learning and real-world innovation, empowering students to transform ideas into viable, purpose-driven solutions.

CIC is held on UAH's campus during Fall and Spring semesters. For additional details contact chargerinnovation@uah.edu.
