For the purpose of this application, please use the following definitions as you continue, making sure you are following the appropriate process for YOU.
Definitions:
First Time in College (FTIC): incoming students who will be attending college for the first time ever as they enter UAH in the Fall semester (generally have just graduated from high school).
New Student: incoming students who have never attended UAH or are transferring to UAH or students who have attended UAH previously but are choosing to reside on campus for the first time.
The Spring 2026 First Year Housing Contract will open on Wednesday, October 15th, at 8am CDT in the student's Residential Self-Service. All incoming FTIC students are required to live on campus unless they live within the 30 mile radius or receive an approved exemption. Review the First Year Housing Requirement for further information. FTIC students do not sign up on the waitlist.
Note: Current residents with an existing Fall 2025-Spring 2026 Housing Contract, do NOT need to submit a Spring Only 2026 Housing Contract.
Spring Student Housing Process Guide
Below is important information about the housing contract.
- You must be admitted to the University in order to submit a housing contract.
- A nonrefundable application fee of $125 is required before you can submit your housing contract. Application fees are not covered by Loans, Grants, or Scholarships.
- For Spring only students, you are signing a housing contract only for the spring semester.
- If you are under the age of 19, a parent or guardian will be required to complete the parental verification form sent via email. This has to be completed in order to receive a housing assignment at a later date.
- If you submit a housing contract and then decide not to attend UAH, cancellation fees will be assessed. You can review this policy here.

If you already have a specific person you would like to live with, please email the Housing Office at housing@uah.edu with their information. While we will do our best to accommodate your request, please note that roommate matches are not guaranteed and are subject to space availability. If you do not request a specific roommate, you'll be matched based on the 11 different attributes provided in the housing contract. You'll be assigned to partially occupied suites as the vast majority of Fall 2025 residents will return for Spring 2026.
The UAH Housing office will alert all new spring housing students of their housing assignments in mid-November for the Spring 2026 semester. We will communicate this information to the student’s UAH email address. We recommend checking that email regularly as it is the main form of communication used by the University. Please note that students applying for the spring semester will be assinged by a housing staff member and will not participate in a room selection process.
Housing Waitlist Procedure
The Spring 2026 Housing Waitlist will open on October 15 at 8am CDT in Residential Self-Service.
Our office manages a waiting list for any new student wanting to live on campus who are not FTIC students for the academic year. There is limited on campus space available for any new student who is not required to live on campus. Below is the waitlist process.
- You will need to log into your myUAH account and navigate to Residential Self-Service located under the Student Services Card.
- You will add yourself to the Spring 2026 Housing Waitlist under the Room Selection/Waitlist section.
- You can view your position on the list after you have added your name.
- You can remove yourself from the list at any point on this same page. If you remove yourself and then need to be added back to the list, you will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list.
- Please note, there is a separate waitlist for the 26-27 academic year. Make sure you are adding yourself to the correct waitlist.
- When our staff starts working through the list, you will receive an email via UAH student email address notifying you that a spot is available. You will have 48 hours to complete the New Student Housing contract to receive the assignment. If you must have a parental verification of your contract, this must be completed within the 48 hour period as well.
- If you decline the offer, your name will be removed from the list.
- If you do not respond, your name will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list.
Note, once you sign the housing contract, you are signing a legal, binding document for the entire academic year. If you need to request a cancellation of your contract, you can find the process on our Appeals & Cancellation page.

NOTE: All housing rates include basic utilities, Internet access, laundry, and Xfinity On Campus for each suite. The 2026-2027 rates will not be available until early summer.
