On Friday, October 01, 2021 in Morton Hall 126, Fellowship Advisor Jennifer Staton will talk about the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS). The CLS Program is part of a U.S. government effort to expand dramatically the number of Americans studying and mastering critical foreign languages. Students of diverse disciplines and majors are encouraged to apply. Participants are expected to continue their language study beyond the scholarship period, and later apply their critical language skills in their future professional careers. Jennifer will discuss the basic application and eligibility requirements for the Critical Language Scholarship, along with advice on how to prepare for the application itself.
This info session is ideal for all majors at all grade levels who are interested in studying abroad for a summer and learning one of the 15 critical languages hosted by the scholarship (including Hindi, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Swahili, Japanese, and Persian, among others).
If you are unable to attend or want to attend via Zoom, contact Jennifer at statonj@uah.edu for the slides or the Zoom link and passcode.
