Biography

Dr. Lingling Zhao received her Ph.D. in Space Physics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in China in 2013, July. She is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Space Science (SPA) at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Before joining UAH, she has been working on the propagation and acceleration of energetic particles since her Ph.D. She has accumulated rich experience in modeling and observational analysis of the transport of galactic cosmic rays, anomalous cosmic rays, and interstellar pickup ions. Dr. Lingling Zhao is currently working on the solar wind turbulence and energetic particles observed by Parker Solar Probe and Solar Orbiter. She developed the graduate course SPA689-01:“Analysis of Spacecraft Data” for the Department of Space Science at UAH. She received the UAH CSPAR Science Achievement Award in 2019, UAH Researcher of the Year Award in 2020.
