Biography

Life-defining moments in higher education

  • I found out the hard way that I was in the wrong major. I ended up switching to Psychology and fell in love with laboratory research involving student learning and memory.
  • Having faculty that were involved in developing my skills as a critical thinker and researcher. Further, they helped me understand the value of a liberal arts education is to learn how to think and what things are worth spending my attention on.
  • Having friends throughout undergraduate and graduate school that supported me, helped me grow, and challenged me.
  • Publishing my first paper and completing my doctorate.
