We are excited to share some important updates and reminders as we approach the end of the year:
Medical Premium Holiday
As a token of our appreciation for your commitment to making smart, healthy choices, we are thrilled to announce a Premium Holiday for all UAH Medical Plan participants!
If you are enrolled in either the PPO or HDHP Plan, you will enjoy a break from your medical premium payments. No medical premiums will be deducted from your Pay 25 check, issued on December 6, 2024.
Thank you for prioritizing your health and well-being, and for being a valued part of UAH.
Open Enrollment Reminders
Insurance changes that you made during Open Enrollment will take effect on January 1st. If you are continuing coverage, please keep using your current health insurance card as your contract number remains the same. New plan participants will receive cards by mail.
Academic Faculty paid over 9 months: Premium adjustments for medical, dental, vision, and identity theft will be reflected on your December 20th paycheck. All other premium adjustments: FSA and HSA contributions, voluntary life and accident, and short-term disability insurances will take effect on your January 3rd paycheck.
12-month faculty and staff: All premium adjustments will apply to the January 3rd paycheck.
Important Flexible Spending Account Deadline Approaching
Health Flexible Spending Account (HFSA) and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (DCFSA) operate on a calendar-year basis. Any remaining funds in your account must be used by December 31, 2024. Funds DO NOT ROLL OVER into the next calendar year-- any unused balance will be forfeited.
Run-Out Period for Claims Submission
After December 31, there is a 90-day run-out period (January-March) for submitting claims on eligible expenses incurred during the 2024 calendar year. If you paid out-of-pocket for any eligible expenses, you can submit a claim online with supporting documentation such as itemized receipts or an explanation of benefits from your insurance provider.
