November 3 - 9 is Compliance & Ethics Week! The Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) began Compliance & Ethics Week to bring attention to the importance of compliance and ethics while highlighting awareness, recognition, and reinforcement.
The UAH Office of Risk Management and Compliance’s mission is to collaborate with campus stakeholders to offer guidance and support in proactively identifying, preventing, and mitigating compliance risks while promoting an organizational culture that values ethical behavior and minimizes the risk of misconduct. This aligns with UAH strategic goal of "Integrity & Respect - Behaving honestly, fairly and ethically to foster a culture of trust, civility, openness and professionalism in all interactions, activities and decision-making."
Compliance Updates and Reminders
All policies should be formally reviewed and finalized by May 2025, so please submit your policy updates as soon as possible.
All departments and areas accepting credit cards either directly or through a third-party vendor or that maintain or have access to credit card information are required to meet the latest version of the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and submit Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) to the UAH PCI Compliance Review Team annually. Achieving these requirements will serve to mitigate the potential of a data breach, and remaining PCI compliant will allow them to continue to take payment cards as a method of payment.
High ethical standards are vital to workplace morale; productivity and maintaining such standards is a core value for UAH. We want you to feel comfortable in approaching your supervisor or management in instances where you believe violations of unethical behavior have occurred. In situations where you prefer to place an anonymous report in confidence, you are encouraged to utilize the Ethics Hotline, hosted by a third-party hotline provider, EthicsPoint. If you have concerns about actual or potential unethical or unlawful work-related misconduct violations, you may report by:
Phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: 1.866.362.9476
Online: https://uas.tnwreports.com/
Be on the lookout for upcoming announcements regarding the release of a new Kuali form to support the Institutional Conflicts of Interest (COI) and Conflicts of Commitment (COC) interim policy.
