I want to personally invite everyone at UAH to a day of sport, physical activity and healthy living. On September 20th, UAH will be hosting the Second Annual International Day of University Sport. The day is part of a larger initiative called the International University Sports Federation (FISU) Healthy Campus Program.
I want to personally thank Dr. Noemi Zaharia for spearheading the healthy campus initiative. Thanks to her hard work, UAH is the first university in the United States and North America registered in the FISU.
I am also excited to announce that UAH is currently certified as a gold level campus. The program focuses on seven domains: physical activity and sport; nutrition; disease prevention; mental and social health; risk behavior; environment, sustainability, and social responsibility, and healthy campus management.
You can join us for multiple sporting events at the Charger Union lawn, a wellness fair, and UAH Athletics will be opening their practices for public viewing.
