A message from the president of UAH.

Dear Charger Community,

I’d like to welcome each of you back to begin the Spring 2022 semester! I hope you and yours enjoyed happy and safe holidays as we begin this New Year together.

These are exciting days to be a part of the UAH family. The University of Alabama in Huntsville has played a proud role in the development of the revolutionary James Webb Space Telescope, which was launched on December 25. The successful deployment of this unprecedented international project marks 25 years of UAH collaboration with our NASA, European Space Agency, Canadian Space Agency and business partners in research, development, and testing.

We look forward to continuing to meet the academic and business needs of this region and beyond by recruiting the best students and hiring great faculty to produce the minds required to support further growth and exploration.

This is also a great time to follow our athletics programs. Our men’s and women’s basketball teams have seven home games remaining, and our spring sports, including baseball, lacrosse, softball, and track and field will begin their seasons soon.

I want to encourage each of you to work hard and have fun, while remembering to do your part to keep our campus community safe. Continue to wear your mask indoors on campus, and if you aren’t yet vaccinated, please consider making an appointment to get the vaccine.

As always, we are thankful to each of you for your efforts to keep our University strong, healthy, and always looking to the future. Here’s to a great semester!

Charge On!

Charles L. Karr
Interim President
