Thank you for your continued collaboration as we begin this academic year. There are a few COVID-related updates and reminders to share with you this week.
UAH has implemented general remote work guidelines to allow employees to work remotely in specific COVID-related circumstances if the department determines it is feasible. The employee may be required to provide documentation supporting the request for remote work, including positive test results, direction to quarantine or isolate, notice of school closure, etc. In each case, the employee is expected to return to normal duties at their assigned work location as soon as practicable after they are cleared by the UAH Faculty and Staff Clinic to return to work.
The general remote work guidance applies to the following COVID-related circumstances:
- Close contact exposure
- Symptomatic employees
- COVID positive/isolating employees
- Quarantine of immediate family member/Closure of school or other care facility due to COVID
If remote work is not feasible or the employee is not able or does not wish to perform their duties remotely, the employee may use leave time until cleared to return to work. The UA System has updated their COVID-19 Dashboard, which now includes student vaccination data. At least 41% of UAH students have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. UAH is incentivizing students to receive the vaccine and is still in the process of collecting vaccination data.
The dashboard indicates a minimum of 67% of UAH faculty and staff have received at least one dose of the vaccine. If you received a vaccine off campus, we encourage you to upload a photo of your vaccine card to the secure UAH Health Portal. We hope to see the faculty/staff and student vaccination data climb throughout the semester.
If you have not received a COVID vaccine, please consider doing so. Appointments can be made through the UAH Health Portal.
As a reminder, face coverings are required indoors on campus. This requirement applies to everyone, regardless of vaccination status.
