First, I must express my gratitude to all of you for so quickly transitioning to remote delivery of your classes this semester, for completing your classes, and now giving your final exams under very different conditions than normal. Thank you for giving our students the opportunity to finish the semester, make progress toward their degree, and, for some, attain their degree. This semester, UAH has its largest number of graduates ever.
Originally, the Faculty Senate requested an extension of the Faculty Activity Report (FAR) deadline to May 1, 2020, which was announced. Now, the academic deans have requested that faculty be granted two weeks after the last grades are due to submit their FARs. Their reasoning is that April has been a very busy month for everyone, completing the semester teaching remotely, and giving finals remotely. More time is needed to ensure that faculty can have the time to complete the FARs in Faculty 180 for 2019-2020.
The deadline for submission of the FARs is extended to May 15, 2020.
Additional adjustments to the evaluation schedule are as follows:
- Department Chair’s Review due June 16
- Response from Faculty to Chair June 30
- Dean’s Review due July 15
